Welcome to your first CNAP newcomer session — a friendly, supportive, and informative introduction designed to help you navigate the first steps of your Canadian journey with confidence. This complimentary 1-hour Zoom call gives newcomers a clear roadmap of what to expect, what to prepare, and how to avoid common mistakes during the first few months in Canada. Whether you’ve just landed, are arriving soon, or are still preparing from abroad, this session gives you the orientation every newcomer wishes they had on Day 1. In this session, you’ll learn: Key documents you need to organize How to set up your banking and credit safely Avoiding newcomer scams & misinformation Housing basics — renting, leases, and red flags First-month essentials and cost-of-living tips How CNAP supports your settlement pathway Q&A time for your most urgent questions Who Should Attend: Permanent Residents International students Temporary Workers Refugees & asylum seekers Newcomers preparing to arrive Why This Session Matters: Moving to a new country can feel overwhelming. Our goal is to give you clarity, direction, and support — with no sales, no pressure, and no hidden agenda. CNAP is a nonprofit built to help you belong, thrive, and navigate Canada safely.

Cancellation Policy

Online Booking Policy (CNAP Workshops) By booking a workshop through our online system, you agree to the following: Booking All registrations are made online through our booking form. A confirmation email is sent automatically with your date, time, and connection details. Reminders Email reminders are sent before your session. It is your responsibility to check your email and join on time. Cancellations and Changes You may cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before the workshop at no cost. Late cancellations (within 24 hours of the start time) and no‑shows may limit your access to future dates. No‑shows If you do not attend and do not cancel in advance, the booking is marked as a no‑show. After repeated no‑shows, you may be moved to “standby only” for future sessions. Session Changes by CNAP CNAP may reschedule a workshop, combine groups, or cancel a session (for example, low enrollment, instructor illness, or technical issues). If this happens, you will be notified by email and invited to choose a new date. Technology Requirements (online sessions) For online workshops, you are responsible for having: A stable internet connection A device with audio and (where required) video Access to Zoom or the platform named in your confirmation email Respect and Safety CNAP reserves the right to remove participants who engage in harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behaviour toward instructors, staff, guest speakers, or fellow participants. Privacy Your information is used only for registration, attendance tracking, and program reporting (including reporting to funders when required). CNAP does not share personal information with third parties without your consent, except where required by law or funding agreements.
